Offerings in April:
Clan Mothers Circle
Monday, 3 April 2023, 6:30pm-9:00pm – Tayanita Medicine Lodge and on-line
or
Monday, 3 April 2023, 12:00pm-2:30pm – TM Lodge and on-line (please RSVP for this)
This month we welcome Looks Far Women, Clan Mother of the 4th Moon Cycle who teaches us how to See the Truth.
This Clan Mother and her Totems, Dragonfly, Lizard, Swan and Dolphin, take us beyond the illusion of Time and Space to the Dreamtime, to Spirit. Like a form of Questing, we may use this time to discern what things in our life are serving us and which are ready to be given to the Sacred Fire! This is our opportunity to see our lives with fresh eyes, childlike eyes – our inner eyes – so we can truly see who we are and how to co-create our lives.
This month in circle, we will Journey to the Dreamtime with and for each other. Have we co-created the lives we want and a life that serves our Self and All Our Relations? Is our society all that it is capable of being? Necessary homework: come with a question you would like the circle to Dream on – this could be about your path in life, how to create a more sacred life for yourself and your family, how to create a life filled with wonder, beauty and bliss, how to navigate a sticky issue, how to work with / face the challenges in our lives, what ways you can help society transform to one of harmony – your imagination is the only limit on your question to Dream on.
In the wheel of the year, we are sitting in the East where the energy of creation and new beginnings is strong. We can birth anew, blossoming into our most powerful Selves, our true, authentic Selves, to live from our hearts and inner knowings. I look forward to being with you in this time of expansion, growth and enlightenment.
Please do bring along your Sacred Braid for this month – your word, Animal Totem and Sacred Path card. If you weren’t with us at the New Year’s Day Ceremony, please pull a card or drum/rattle to discern your energy and Totem for the month. Please also bring rattles and drums, a lap cloth and cushion for floor sitting.
This circle is open to all women over the age of 12.

What to bring: drums and/or rattles (we have a few drums or rattles to borrow), a bottle of water, and something to sit on – a cushion for floor sitting or (compact) lawn chair (there are no chairs available on site). You may wish to bring a notebook and pen.

Open Creative Afternoons
Usually every Tuesday Afternoon 1:00pm – 7:00pm – Tayanita Medicine Lodge
In community, people used to craft together. These Open Creative times are an opportunity for us to come together in community and create! When we create, we come into alignment with Spirit, our creations come straight from our Orenda and become tangible Spirit in our lives. Dolphin wants us to know that when we are fully absorbed in creation, play, or the wonder and beauty of Nature, we are receiving a healing. This Medicine is offered with Grace – we are worthy of receiving it just by being alive.
We will work in a sociable way but also in Ceremony with Sacred intent.
This little medicine bag on the right is one of my creative projects. What’s yours? Come early, come late, or just come have a tea with us and watch the rest of us work but just show up!
Please bring your ideas, all materials and all tools you will need to work on your project.
Open to all.
Coming in June:
Vision Quest 2023 with White Star Woman, Speaking Hawk and Spirit Eyes
Thursday, 15 June – Sunday, 18 June 2023 – Holme Horse Farm, Lincolnshire
Vision Quest is an ancient ceremony to realize our oneness with all things. It is a time to sit in Nature and revitalise our connection with Spirit. Some pray for a vision of their life’s work or an expansion or clarification, some vision to make a request, some to pray or to give gratitude, and some simply use this time to be in the moment, to reconnect to the Earth Mother, the Universe and All Our Relations. The Vision Quest ceremony is offered in the tradition of our teachers, Will Rockingbear and White Star Woman.
The Vision Quest Elder: White Star Woman (visiting from the US)
Vision Quest Chief: Michelle Speaking Hawk
Fire Chief: Tracey Spirit Eyes, an experienced Vision Quest Fire Chief from our sister community in North Carolina. Tracey and I quested together many years ago. Some of you may also remember Tracey from our visit to Stonehenge several years ago.
Preparation will commence in January with monthly teaching circles. Your intention and preparation to quest will dictate the quality of your quest.
Optional but highly recommended: To help prepare for your quest, we will take a pilgrimage to Glastonbury in the days prior to the quest to visiting the Chalice Well, White or Red Springs and Pipe Ceremony on the Tor as part of purifying for your quest (not included in the cost).
Supporters: You can also participate by assisting at base camp. This is a different form of Questing where the fire is held for the entire community. As a Supporter, you will be energetically supporting the Questors – this is an incredibly important part of the ceremony. Supporters at base camp will be in ceremony and can expect teachings, drumming, singing and Storytelling at the Sacred Fire. It takes an entire community to support a quest – please consider joining us for all or part of it! Contact Michelle Speakinghawk directly for more information if you are considering supporting.
Cost for supporters at base camp: £250 – hold your place with a £100 deposit.
Drum Birthing Ceremony and Drum Beater Creation
Saturday, 24 June 2023 – Tayanita Medicine Lodge
Drum Beater Creation
Saturday, 24 June 2023, 10:00am-2:00pm
As part of this Sacred Ceremony we will also create a drum beater for our drums. All materials for the beater will be provided. However, you may want to bring your own beater handle if a particular type of wood is calling to you. If so, it should be a tree branch no larger in diameter than your middle finger and no longer than the length from the tip of your middle finger to the crook of your elbow. It can be recently cut or older but make sure it is sound (no rotted) and dry.
Please also bring a Stanley knife/box cutter or other sharp knife, a cutting board, cushion to be comfortable and a red cloth to work on.
Please note: anyone is welcome to join us to create a drum beater – you needn’t have made a drum with us. Please contact me if you wish to do so.
Bring a pot luck to share for lunch 1-2pm
Suggested minimum Gifting for this Ceremony is £25.
Drum Birthing Ceremony
Saturday, 24 June 2023, 2:00pm-5:00pm
In this Sacred Ceremony, we will birth our beautiful drums that we created in September 2022. Teachings on the traditional use of the drum, Drum Medicine and drum care will be shared.
Please bring 2 to 3 gifts to be given to the drums of others
These gifts, made from natural components, may be unfashioned items, for instance, someone gifted my drum a red tail hawk feather which I later fashioned and hung on my drum OR you may bring something completely ready for someone to hang on their drum, for instance, someone else gifted my drum two very small ceramic totem animals hanging on a bright ribbon. The elaborateness of the gift is limited only by your imagination. Please note the gift should NOT be made of metal, stone or anything sharp as it may damage the drum face.
If you are coming to the Drum Birthing only and not making a beater, the ceremony is done on a gifting basis. If you are making a beater and coming to the Birthing, the suggested donation is still £25.
RSVPs by 24 May are a must so people have time to acquire/make their drum gifts.
